You are purchasing the PLANS (PDF file),
NOT
the item in the pictures
! Please make sure you read ALL of this section prior to ordering.
NO LOCAL PICKUP! Since this is an electronic file that is emailed to you there will be no refunds after the email is sent!
Send me a message that says "Please email me the plans to (enter email address)."
These plans are copyrighted and protected by the copyright laws of the United States of America.
See sheet #1 (of 10) in the photos above to see how the design matches the PDGA championship specs.
Here are some feedbacks from a few purchasers! (there is also a photo showing a couple of the buyer's finished targets!)
Great!
Thank you so much!
Quickly shipped and just as described. What more could I ask for!?
Thank you so much for creating these plans! They really helped and the basket works very well.
I am known as a "Tinkerer" and I usually end up designing the things I need and making them myself. I use an over $8,000.00 computer program (SolidWorks) to design my ideas and am a certified SolidWorks professional. I have 70 US patents, with over three dozen pending.
This is not a design made from hard to obtain, or seasonal items, or something made from pieces you "may" find in a garage sale or junk yard.
Besides wood cutting tools, screws (coated) and glue here is basically what you will need to build this Disk Target.
4'X4' 1/2" thick treated plywood (I am highly suggesting you use treated wood for this so you don't have to paint it and get paint all over your discs)
3 pieces of 2"X4"X8' long treated wood
About 42 feet of chain
What? no wine barrels, bicycle rims, outdoor umbrella stands, office chair base, or garbage cans?
See the first sheet of the plans in the images and you will see it meets the PDGA "Championship" standards.
Features and Benefits:
Breaks down into four easily carried, and transported, components
Everything, and I mean everything, can be purchased at your local lumber yard
10 sheets of plans gives you plenty of options to personalize this disk target to your taste and expense. For example the chains:
Can be held with U-bolts (about $0.47 each from Mcmaster-Carr)
Can use Eye-bolts
Can use super cheap Zip-ties (I used two ties for each chain through the same holes)
There is an actual Cut list!
There are visual step-step instructions
It looks super nice!
Easy to assemble
You can use it indoors or outside. (If indoors only you can further save money by using standard wood, not treated)
Here are the real costs, using quality items:
$12.00, 3 pieces 2X4X8 pressure treated stud
$17.00, 1/2 sheet (4' X 4') pressure treated plywood
$45.00, 2/0 (1/4") coil chain (50 ft.) You can use cheaper chain but this matched what the local courses were using. Look on eBay for the best price and free shipping. Hardware store may cost you more.
$ 8.00, Coated Screws
Of course you will need basic wood cutting tools like a saw (I used a cut-off miter saw, sabre (jig) saw, and a table saw) and a hand drill. You can leave the edges squared off but I routed most of my sharp corners.
One last item! I added a computer rendered image of the design to show that if you follow the instructions in the sheets, like I did, your Disk Target will match the computer design like mine did! I spent over 100 hours researching, designing, prototyping and revising the plans for this Disc Target.
Please contact me with any questions you may have.
Happy Gaming!
